About Me

Credentials and Experience

I have lived in Saskatoon for nearly 10 years, having moved here from Ontario.  After the births of my 2 daughters (with the wonderful support of a doula) I decided to train as a doula. I understand from personal experience how helpful the support of a doula can be to a mother in labour.  I am an advocate for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) as the Chapter Leader of ICAN of Saskatoon (the local chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network) and am on the board for the Prairie Birth Collective Inc.

I believe that birth is a very important and special day in a woman’s life that deserves to be honoured. Birthing women need to be respected and supported on this significant event in her and her baby’s life. It is also a normal, physiological, process that need not be treated as an illness. Mothers deserve to be fully informed of their options in order to make the best decisions for her and her baby, and once she has made her choice it needs to be respected.

I have attended, and will continue to attend, many kinds of births from planned cesareans to home births and everything in between.
